I got this email the other day about an upcoming radio program on early childhood education.  Check it out -- Nicole

Listen to Interlochen Public Radio this Sunday, July 4, at 1 p.m., to hear the American Radio Workshop's special program "Early Lessons--the Perry Preschool Project."

The Perry Preschool Project is one of the most famous education experiments of the last 50 years. The study asked a question: Can preschool boost the IQ scores of poor African-American children and prevent them from failing in school? The surprising results are now challenging widely-held notions about what helps people succeed – in school, and in life.

You can download this radio program or read the transcript at http://americanradioworks.publicradio.org/features/preschool/

Just so everyone knows there will be a school board meeting on Boardman and Webster St. this coming Monday at 6:00.  The board is seriously thinking of dropping the busing for our special needs kids.  THIS IS NOT RIGHT as far as I can see.  If they do drop the busing then either BATA will pick up these special needs kids....[I am sorry I would rather drive my own child/children to and from school....cuz I have heard what happened on those BATA buses].  Or they will pick up the DEAN Busing.  Just thought I would send this out to you all.  Hope to see you at the meeting....I am going to try and be there...

We just got back from Dr. Bradstreet in FL.  After being spoiled with a good DAN doc in Indianapolis and not finding what we were looking for up here, traveling to an experienced DAN doc is WELL WORTH IT!  It is SO EXCITING that our kids' bodies can heal!
